Hello all,

I have been tasked with installing MGLTools on CentOS 5 x86_64. We are using a custom built Python 2.6 installation for many other programs and would like to continue using it if possible. What version of MGLTools would be advised for this set up? I realize the i686 arch precompiled binaries will work, but we're interested in having a 64 bit version that integrates well with our environment.

I noticed that Debian and Ubuntu are using CVS checkouts to get Python 2.6 compatibility for their packages; is there a particular CVS tag I should look at?

Thanks!

I see MGLTools 1.5.6 Release Candidate 1 is 'Coming Soon'. How long will this be? I am supposing that it will support Python 2.6 since post-1.5.4 CVS versions do, and would possibly be the solution to my problems.

Thanks for the post. 1.5.6rc1 will be a snapshot of our nightly builds with Python 2.5. There were a couple of failing tests today, that's why I haven't updated download page yet. I'm hoping to include 1.5.6rc1 links in the downloads page in a couple of days. Thanks!

Thanks for the information. I think for now I'm compiling autotools and autogrid from source, and will use the x86_64 binaries provided for MGLTools on x86_64 that includes Python 2.5. We'll worry about the integration later.
