|Post subject:||Isolating FAD in Glucose Oxidase|
I'm trying to help a friend illustrate their biofuel cell research. I'm using ePMV in Cinema 4D R16. I need to be able to diplay/animate Glucose Oxidase (1gpe), highlight FAD within the enzyme, remove FAD, and show a version of the molecule that is now missing FAD.
Using ePMV, I'm able to successfully bring in Glucose Oxidase. I can even isolate some of the ligands using the Ligand selection set. Once I've done that, I can visually select the FAD sub-units - but for whatever reason I can't get "Add selection...: Picked" to create a selection that is just FAD, and without that I'm can't isolate it or remove it from the larger molecule.
Any tips or recommendations?
I've created a google doc w/ screenshots illustrating my process, the document more-or-less stops where I run into the issue, you can view it here.

Update --- I can isolate parts of other molecules using the selection technique, but for some reason it doesn't work with Glucose Oxidase. Maybe a bug in ePMV, or a malformed PDB file?
