Hello-

I recently upgraded to R13 and am trying to get ePMV working on it. It was running smoothly on R12. When I go to run the install_plugin.py script I get a console error as follows:

file "scriptmanager", line 39, in <module>
NameError: name'_file_' is not defined

I have no clue what this means but I thought it might help...

I am trying to install ePMV-0.3. The unzipped folder is in its correct location in the MGL Tools Library folder. Any advice? Thanks!

HI,

we recently change our installation process:
http://epmv.scripps.edu/download-instal ... -R12---R13
you dont require any installation process.
Clean the previous attempt to install, namly remove everything related to epmv in the your ressource folder (epmv, mgltoolsdir etc..)

let me know if you have issue with the standalone pacakge

Thanks for the link! This is a much easier install process. One thing I might suggest: In the instructions it says to unzip the file directly to the plugins folder...my install only worked when I took the epmv folder OUT of the top folder and placed it in the plugins. It would make more sense to say something like 'unzip the file, then inside the folder marked 'epmv-mac' take the 'epmv' folder and place it into the plugins folder. Thank you sou much for all that you do, so happy to have epmv on R13!

Hi there

Sorry for my bad english.

I am having trouble running ePMV with CINEMA 4D R13.016 (32 bits). I followed the intructions in http://epmv.scripps.edu/download-install-free/perhost#TOC-Cinema4D-R12---R13 and now ePMV doesn't appear in the plugins bar.

The console show this message :

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "'epmv_c4d_plugin.pyp'", line 57, in <module>
WindowsError: [Error 3] Le chemin d'acc賠sp飩fi頥st introuvable: 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\R\xc3\xa9mi\\Application Data\\MAXON\\cinema 4d_34A33228\\prefs'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "'epmv_synchro.pyp'", line 7, in <module>
ImportError: No module named ePMV.cinema4d

Can you help me ?

Thank you

Romain

Hi Romain,

look like the plugin don't know where he is.
Can you check if this folder exist :
C:\\Documents and Settings\\R\xc3\xa9mi\\Application Data\\MAXON\\cinema 4d_34A33228\\prefs
It may be due to some strange character in your username ("R\xc3\xa9mi")

well look like some character encoding problem.
Can you try to replace your plugin file by this one : http://mgldev.scripps.edu/projects/ePMV ... plugin.pyp
simply put this file in your C:\\Documents and Settings\\Rémi\\Application Data\\MAXON\\cinema 4d_34A33228\\plugins\ePMV\
I add a line that should handle the encoding, but it may not work so if its still doesn't work you may need to write your path directly in the file:
-edit the file epmv_c4d_plugin.pyp
-at line 57 replace :
prefpath = c4d.storage.GeGetC4DPath(1)
by:
prefpath = "C:\\Documents and Settings\\Rémi\\Application Data\\MAXON\\cinema 4d_34A33228\\prefs"

Let me know if you can get it working

Thank you very much !

This one works fine : the ePMV module is running.

I do have another problem yet : the .pdb files that i'm trying to import seems to be unaccepted by ePMV. I only have got a message "error" (this sort of molecule for exemple : http://www.librairiedemolecules.educati ... lucose.pdb

Have you got any idea to solve this new problem ?

Thank you very much for spending time helping me.
