We're working on assembling some sort of photo/video blog gallery where any and all users can post images, comment, and possibly vote on them, etc. If anyone has suggestions or experience setting this up, please let me know, but for now, if you've made a great visual with ePMV that you'd like to share, please post it as a comment to this thread:

•If you're willing, please describe your techniques
•Let us know if we may move your image to the main gallery
•I encourage you to sign your work.

To post a picassa image, for example, isolate the image of interest in picassa, then right click on it to copy the image URL. Past that URL in this forum, select it and click the Img button, e.g.:
Code:

Your eye goes to the tacky light in the upper left... sigh. Also, the floaties (from JoelOtron's cool Xpresso plugin) and floor have no earthly business at this scale, but its fun to tinker with these and other render settings. I've made a movie on my youtube page of several parameters changing. The model inside uses ePMVs new Fancy Ribbon where I toyed with the settings for about 15 minutes to come up with a nice tapered style.

Dark rendering of a clathrin cage from a file I posted with Steve Harrison's help as a revision in the PDB that made it easier to represent the functional units of clathrin- 3iyv. Will try to work on lighting if I get time- we made a tangible 3D model of this with our MGL printer years ago.

Hola,

Here are some renderings I did with C4D 12 showing how magnets would look in an antigen/antibody complex for print as a tangible model. The settings are fairly simple, I used fresnel on the reflection channels of the blue, red, and green materials. Then I threw in some ambient occlusion and global illumination for good measure.

Depth of Field finally renders properly through transparency and in reflections with Cinema 4D's new physical render engine available in release 13. ePMV works in r13 as well!

Wow Adam that pictures look pretty impressive like gratis kontakte, did you run some special settings to get this results?

regards

Thanks Thomas,

I used pretty standard settings, I didn't change anything for the global illumination. For the ambient occlusion I just increased the maximum value on the until it didn't look splotchy. Also it's important to remember any effect that you want like the fresnel reflection just has to be applied over all of the materials: blue, red, and green. In retrospect I think I should have used a higher antiaisling setting.

Here they are in the real world after being designed with ePMV:
