Linux Mint 15 installed PyRx, won't start

Postby GryderArt » Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:51 pm

Sargis,

Thanks for all you do to keep PyRx usable!

So, I'm up and running for the first time with a VirtualBox Linux system, using Linux Mint 15. PyRx installed fine, and I had to add
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install libjpeg62:i386 ia32-libs-multiarch
to be able to launch it. But, when PyRx launches, all of the windows show up for a split second before disappearing. What is happening?

Thanks,
~Berkley

Berkley,

You are very welcome. Try installing VirtualBox Guest Additions - http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/virt ... ddons.html
PyRx crashes when there are no hardware 3D accelerated (OpenGL) drivers loaded. There might be a bug in one of the third-party packages PyRx is using that's causing this. I haven't had a chance to debug this.

Best,

Thanks Sargis!

So, I have given up. I installed everything, all the add-ons, and tried all the different ways posted online to getting the OpenGL working (which fixed it), but PyRx still shuts down after a few seconds. All this was to try and use PyRx 0.9, hoping that it would allow me to view flexible docking outputs. If you have an update to the 0.8 Windows version that may be able to open flexible docking files, let me know.
