After successful completion of autogrid, when I launched autodock , there was a three lined message in stdout copied below:



Running: autodock4 -p C:\Documents and Settings\Muhammad Yawar\ind.dpf

autodock4: can't create log file C:\Documents and Settings\Muhammad Yawar\indޱﾝ
.dlg

autodock4: Unsuccessful Completion.


Please guide what to do????

What exactly did you do to start the autodock calculation?
Did you start it from AutoDockTools OR did you type something in a cygwin shell (if so, what?)?

Infact as a new user I just used the default macromolecule and ligand for practise and followed the manual. Everthing went smooth but autodock. Please support for successful practise so that I could be able to complete my research . Thanks.

And I used Autodock tools and did not write anything in shell.

I used ADL to run autodock. Autogrid was also run inADL. log file cant be created is the message i recieved . Please help. i am stuck in the problem.

My name is Priyadarshini Kachroo, MS student at University of Bologna, Italy. I am presently working on my thesis which involves Virtual screening, docking studies for a receptor at Department of Pharmaceutical sciences, Bologna.

I have attached 2 error files, which i got, and also the constants.h file after changing the variable Max record, with this mail for your kind consideration. I would also like to mention that I had installed latest version of MGL Tools on my Windows 7 platform i.e "MGLTools-1.5.6rc3". Then I downloaded the source code files of Autodock4 and also could change the dimension of MAX RECORDS in "constants.h". But after that, I am not able to understand how to configure or compile it in Windows 7 platform of my laptop. I also tried to configure using cygwin but I am unable to somehow solve this problem, I have attached the error also for the same.

My autogrid runs successfully, But this autodock error is really creating a big hurdle in continuation of my work . I hope I was clear in explaining the problem and if anything else is required, Kindly let me know. I would hereby request you or anyone on this forum to kindly advise me in detail on this. I would greatly appreciate your efforts and time spent.

I was facing the same problem, finally I succeeded in recompiling the source code, I hope that I was successful in doing that because it generated some .o extension files & many other analysis files but they are of no use till I finally run autodock with my receptor and ligand. I am attaching 2 image files to clearly understand what I have done. Kindly have a look. I would like to mention that before installing cygwin and gcc, c++ files etc. I was running autodock on Windows 7 cmd from the folder where I have kept Autodock & autogrid application files & cygwin.dll file along with all other files generated by autogrid, ligand file and receptor file as well. Now also I was using it, But still I am getting the same error.

Problem is :

So now I do not understand how and from where should I run autodock now. Kindly explain in detail as you have done. Where should i keep my receptor and ligand files etc, finally needed for running autodock as I do not clearly understand how to run autodock on cygwin.

Please help....!!
